The almost finished project

So once I finished the bed I couldn't stand the color that was in our room so I HAD to paint! I went with a blue gray and I LOVE it. We changed out all the trim to white and it really makes the color stand out.
This is a shelf I built! It turned out pretty well and I am working on a matching style, but taller and narrower shelf to replace an existing shelf we have in our room. I'll post pics when I am done with that one.

Our lastest injury . . . the following pictures are not for those with a weak stomach!

Our household never seems to be short on injuries. Here is the latest. Porkchop was jumping on one of the girls beds and fell off. Yes, I know the song "no more monkeys jumping on the bed" is probably running through your head right about now. Anyways, I hear the girls yelling "OH MY HEAVENS" from down the hall followed by, "there's blood all over his face!" So I run in and he's laying on his back with blood all over his mouth and he's starting to choke because there is so much blood. I take him to the bathroom and clean him up and find that he has somehow bitten off a piece of his tongue and then split it down the middle. GROSS!! I am told the mouth heals quickly, I just hope it closes up so we don't have a little snake boy! :) He cut his lower lip too, so he has a bit of a fat lip, but the tongue is the worst part.
Look at that cute face . . .
And his injury . . .

Another Project

Before . . .
After . . .

The finished project!!!

This is my latest project. I think it turned out pretty good for my first furniture build. I wish I could say it was SUPER difficult, but it really wasn't. The longest part was painting, antiquing, and polyurethaning it. If you want to get into furniture building check out this website http://www.knockoffwood.blogspot.com/
I got the plans from there and I am already planning on building a shelf next and then maybe an entertainment center. If you are curious about cost, it cost roughly around $120 for wood and supplies. A HUGE savings compared to the original pottery barn version which is I think around $1600, not including shipping.
I can't wait to start my next project! Now if I could just figure out what color to paint our bedroom it would look a million times better in there. Any suggestions?
