Happy LATE Christmas

This would have been the picture on our Christmas Card that you would have received if the printers had printed it correctly and I had sent them out.  But alas, the printer did print them wrong and I ran out of time to send them out.  And being the awesome blogger that I am . . . NOT . . . I am even late posting a Christmas entry.  So here I am wishing you a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!!!

First Cereal Experience

Here is piglet trying out cereal for the first time.
So far so good!
O.K.  Maybe not so good!
Hmmm . . . Not to sure about this.  Then again have you looked at that cereal stuff.  It doesn't look so appealing.  I don't blame her.  We'll keep trying though!

Halloween fun

Such a cute little witch!
And because one picture just isn't enough!

He was supposed to be Handy Manny, but decided on a builder instead.  He LOVES to take apart and fix things so this costume was perfect!
Babe wanted to be the same as Piglet so here we have another witch.  These girls are two cute witches, but then again I am biased.
Honey wanted to be an angel.  I promise she loved her costume, but she is going through that awkward smile phase that I think every kid at some point goes through.  She is still a beautiful angel, smile or not!
I had to put in a picture of all the kids together.  That is Porkchops say "cheese" face.  I promise he's not angry.

Since Halloween was on a Sunday we opted out of trick or treating and just did our church's Trunk or Treat on Saturday. I did a special dinner though on Sunday.  We had mummy pizzas, ghoul juice, and I decorated the table with spiders and worms.  Each of the kids got a pair of crazy eyes too.
Here are the crazy eyes!

Then for dessert we had a graveyard treat complete with dirt, worms, and tombstones.
Happy Halloween!  We had a great halloween with lots of fun!  Hope you did too!

Cousins

Piglet got to spend some time with her cousin this past weekend.  I can only hope that they will be as good of friends as me and my cousin are.

3 Months Old

Can you believe this little girl is 3 months old already?  I know I can't.  She is the sweetest baby.  I can tell she already has a very sensitive spirit.  She doesn't like loud noises, and will give the cutest pouty lip when she hears one.  Her daddy, brother and sisters are hopelessly in love with her and so am I.  She is by far our biggest baby, but I am lovin' the chubs.

Curriculum Post

I have had people ask me what we use for our curriculum so if you want to know I posted them on our homeschool blog.  The button is down the page on the left hand side.

Sleepy Girl

This little girl sleeps pretty good at night, but shouldn't a baby her age take naps during the day.  She is a major cuddly baby though, and these moments are fleeting.  We eat it up while we can!

What's a Boy To Do?

No, this isn't one of the girls feet.
It belongs to this little boy!
I promise it was promptly removed with this!
What's a boy to do growing up in a house full of girls?  I promise I do provide him with footballs, motorcycles and tools, which he does love.  But a shiny, brand new bottle of his sisters purple nail polish was just to much to resist.

The Blessing

I am so grateful for my sister-in-law Rebecca who took these pics on our little girls blessing day.  I think they turned out beautifully.
My mother-in-law made these sweet little booties for her and embroidered the date of her blessing on the bottom and the first letter of her name on the top.
I want to thank everyone that traveled to our home to be a part of this special day.  It's always fun to get together with family and friends to celebrate the birth of a little one.  Thanks again!

A lost book or an upset tummy?

Babe and Honey both got these Fancy Nancy Diaries today at Target.  Don't you love the dollar section?  Anyways, the girls came home and went upstairs to play.  While I was downstairs fixing lunch I could hear them playing.  Quite dramatically, I might add.  Amidst the drama I heard frantic cry's, "Oh no, I lost my diarrhea!  Where's my diarrhea?"  Slightly concerned I went to check on them only to find they were pretending they had lost their precious DIARIES.  Thank heavens they hadn't lost their diarrhea.  That is not something I would want to go searching around the house for!

Me and My Peeps

I know my posts have been brief lately, but it's all I have time for these days.  I admire all these women who have a million children, homeschool each and every one of them, have their house in perfect order and still maintain their blogs.  I, however, am not one of them.  So here is another short entry for the blog-o-sphere.  This is a pic of me and my sibs.  My brother just left to go on a mission for two whole years.  CRAZY!!!   I am so glad I got to go Utah to see him off.  I will definitely miss him, as will my kids.  I know he will be a great missionary and I look forward to hearing about his experiences.

My Reasons for Not Posting

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission

My little brother just left on a mission for two years.  He will be serving in the Frankfurt, Germany mission.  We were able to go to Utah to see him off at the Mission Training Center.  It wasn't so much a see him off, but a throw him out the door and go.  They no longer allow families in the MTC, so it's a drop off and go situation.  Here are some pics!
I hope they call me on a mission.  When I have grown a foot or two.
Babe and Elder Peterson
I can't believe how different this little girl will be when he gets home.
Honey and her uncle
Putting on one last happy face with the parents before the tears!  :)

My New Fav!

I am in love with this new music.  My favs are All About Your Heart, Hourglass, and All the Pennies.  Check it out on iTunes.  It's great for anyone with little girls who like to dance around the room and Hourglass will make you cry if you've just had a baby (just a warning).  :)

Lovin' this little girl

I am totally in love with this sweet little girl!  In just two short weeks she has changed so much.  She loves to observe everything around her and I swear she tries to talk to me.  She has a natural smile about her when she's awake and has super pouty lips when she's asleep.  Love, Love, Love her!!!!!

Bummer

This is what happens when you try to make a pie and are a million months pregnant. You drop it on the floor on the way to the oven, and rather than cry, you laugh hysterically and tell your husband to grab the camera so you can blog about it later.

Breakfast time

Porkchop has been extremely curious about the whole breast feeding thing. The first time he saw me feeding our little girl was in the morning. He said, "Whatcha doin' mom?" I replied, "I am feeding your sister breakfast." I just figured this was the easiest way to explain it to a two year old. Well a couple days later I was getting ready to get into the shower and he loudly exclaimed, "MOM, you have TWO breakfasts!" I think my husband and I will not be able to help calling them breakfasts from now on. :)

Can't get enough

I can't get enough of this sleeping beauty
Her sweet little feet
Her sleep smiles
And more sleep smiles
And watching her siblings love on her.
Does it get any better than this?

Welcome the Newest Member of Our Family

Here is the newest member of our family! Sorry it took so long to get pictures up. Our hard drive was completely full so it took a while to transfer files to an external hard drive. But here they are. Adeline was born on July 8, bright and early at 2:08 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. She was by far my most difficult delivery. The labor part was a breeze, but because she was facing up she didn't not want to come out. After changing positions numerous times, watching her heart rate drop with each contraction and pushing for over and hour and a half we all thought that I was headed for a c-section. Thankfully we had a really good doctor who was able to manually turn her and once she turned around she came out just fine. We had to stay a few extra days in the hospital because her bilirubin levels kept rising and after and IV and a couple of days on lights we were able to come home. We are all loving her and I am cherishing every minute.
Now I only need to find a name to give her for our blog. Any thoughts?

The Great Wall . . . Part 4

Now that we've built most of the wall we have to fill it! Here are the kids watching the dump truck.
This is the first load. Not to bad, right? Oh . . . just wait!

Here are 3, maybe 4 loads of dirt. This is the view looking from the house.
Here's the view looking at the house.
What's sad is that we had 3 more loads after this delivered and even more sad is that we need more! As for the need to vent in the previous post, it is slightly related to this, but that post is for another time!

A Need to Vent

Do you ever look at others blogs and think "WOW, these mom's have got it all together!" I feel this way especially reading other mom's homeschool blogs. For the last week, well since Saturday I have felt down. My kids are driving me crazy, my backyard looks like a war zone (i'll post pics later), I feel like the fatest person on the planet, and I have absolutely NO energy (which is probably why my kids are driving me crazy.) I feel like I give and give all day long and have nothing left right now. I went to the mall today thinking it would help lift my spirits to find something cute to wear and that the kids would enjoy the outing, but they ended up whining the whole time and NOTHING seem to fit right or feel right. So I came home even more down and more tired than I had been before I left. My week has been full of potty training and cleaning up vomit and tending to others needs. Is it selfish to think I want someone to take care of me for a change? That's where I end up thinking I am a horrible mom when reading these other homeschool blogs, because they seem to have it so together. They don't complain and tend to their childrens every need and don't let much bother them (at least that's the way it seems). Just had to say this and now I feel a little better. Please excuse my rantings and ravings.

The Great Wall Part 3

Here is my husband working on row six . . .
This is the rounded edge . . .

And this is what it looks like eight rows up!

We still have a long way to go, but it feels good to have this part up. We will still probably add a couple more rows after we get some dirt in, but this is at least some head way. And we know that it is super sturdy cause my husband rolled a bobcat into the back side of it. More on that later! :)
