The Reason For My Absence

I know I am just making excuses, but I seriously have not had any time to blog.  I am currently in the middle of two wedding cake designs, making cupcakes for a primary activity, planning a baby shower, teaching piano lessons, making wedding bouquets (these are for a completely different wedding, not involving the two above mentioned wedding cakes),  planning a sharing time for primary,  and trying to finish up teaching Hailey's first grade math by March 15th so we can get next years curriculum.  I am in no way complaining about how busy I am, because in all honesty I love it!  But just explaining the reason why I have not blogged.  But I do need to catch up.  I have promised several people I would post my wheat bread recipe as well as a new recipe.  I just came up with a lime chicken and green chile chutney served with sweet rice and let me just say it's awesome.  So hopefully nothing else will pop up and I will get to post those soon.

I have a Nikon D-60. We got a good deal on it plus I guess it's a good one for beginners to learn on. The d-60 is the second to lowest dslr model Nikon has. We can't afford a high end camera, but I think it takes great pictures. I waited forever to get a dslr because there's always other things to buy. I finally got one a few weeks ago. Since I didn't get anything for birthdays and mothers days, or aniversaries for the last couple years, It's considered make up for all of that. I like to joke that I like my presents in bulk. It was worth the wait though. Jason wants me to buy a couple more things for it. I think I will because my sister wants me to take her bridals in a month. The original plan was to spend a thousand on the camera, and we've spent eight hundred so far. The couple things I want will bring it all to about fourteen hundred dollars. It's an expensive hobby. I wouldn't mind taking some pictures for a little money eventually to pay for the hobby. At least I don't have to pay other people to take pictures of my kids now. Learning a couple of things since buying the camera, I might have looked for a good deal on a D-90. I guess it's hard to find lenses for the D-60 because they need an internal moter in them or something like that. The good new is though, that the lenses I buy for the D-60 will work on higher end models, they'll just cost me more money I think. I'll have to look around, but it's not like I'm going to buy a bunch of lenses right now. We have two, and I want one more so I can take better pictures of kids without a flash when the lighting is bad.
