I have to admit that my kids have NEVER tasted cookie dough or any other batter for that matter containing raw eggs! For those that know me well, I am a huge germ-a-phobe. So the thought of my kids getting salmonella poisoning has never been worth it for me to let them have any. Lately, though, I feel that for some reason or another they are missing out on a right as a kid to eat cookie dough. So I made up an egg free cookie dough and they were finally able to partake of a kids "right of passage"! And it was tasty . . . you'd never miss the egg! I am sure that I am probably making a weaker generation by not exposing them to such things as raw eggs, but I don't really care. The thought just grosses me out way to much! So here is the "cookie dough".

Oh my goodness I LOVE cookie dough! Last time I made cookies I ended up just eating the cookie dough. Though that's partly because I have a really hard time making cookies in this high altitude. They're always like paper thin and way too crispy. Did you have that problem while you were here?
Good stuff. You probably didn't like Gaston then. I guess your girls won't have any hair on their chest.
I am afraid to confess much of what my kids have eaten, touched, or played in...I am SO not a germ-a-phobe like that. But I am glad you did let them partake of cookie dough--even if it wasn't quite the real thing. :) jk! Definitely part of childhood! Go for cake batter next!
Being a nurse, I should know better...but I can't help it! :) I always sneak a lick of the batter/dough...even being pregnant. Mark actually got Salmonella on his mission...pretty crazy! He was in the hospital for a while. So knowing what I know you would think I wouldn't do it...but like you said, it's part baking. :)
I have many fond memories of liking the spoon after my mum was done baking. Stuart on the other hand, hadn't liked the brownie batter off the whisk until we got married...
