CVI and WAVA
I just have to express how excited I am about these two programs for home schoolers. Ever since I made the decision I have never felt more right about anything... well except for marrying Robb!! ;) When I first started thinking about home school I was really nervous about coming up with my own material and worried about my kids falling behind. I was also worried about the social aspect of things and was worried about them not getting those important contacts and experiences that would help them later on in life. Well with CVI and WAVA my prayers have been answered. YEAH!!! WAVA gives you all the curriculum. . . for free!! So everything is laid out for me. Plus if we plan it right, if we finish the material by the end of March they will send you the next years materials so you can get a head start. How great is that?! Then with CVI whatever curriculum I don't want to use with WAVA, CVI will pay for. AMAZING!!! So I will be able to put her in this Spanish class for 5 year olds that she otherwise wouldn't be able to do if she was enrolled in traditional school and she could take swim, dance, or gymnastics and have that count as P.E. LOVE IT!!! So through those programs she can meet other people and still make friends without enrolling her in school. I also love that with CVI that when Emma starts school she will be able to start early. Her birthday is in October so normally she would have to wait a full year to start school, but with CVI she only has to wait a month until after her 5th birthday! Again, AMAZING!!! Anyways, I just had to share my excitement with the blogging world. Happy Friday, everyone!

Yeah! That's really cool! My sister in law is doing a similar program in Arizona. It's kinda cool because they log it all on the internet and keep track of it that way. Anyway, yeah for you! Oh ya, I REALLY want you to post your old chocolate chip cookie recipe! unless it's a family secret :)
I meant to write and ask you about that stuff earlier...are these Washington programs only or are they nationwide? I think it is so neat that you are doing this! I don't know that I myself am capable of it....but I think it is great!
I think I sent you my email already--if not, let me know. i WOULD LOVE to hear more about these programs...
Hey congrats! That does sound like a good program.
I have to say that I am DYING that I just paid for a year of piano lessons when I could have enrolled Ruby in CVA (or CVI) in December and had them paying for it. Crazy. Anyway, I did enroll her on Friday in CVA.
I went to a great meeting the other day by a lady who homeschools five (going on six) kids, and she did "a week in her life" and I got some good info. One interesting thing is that her mom lives in Texas, but she is their Spanish teacher. She arranges visual aides and IMs them links so they can see them, and she has all kinds of listening activities and stuff, all by phone! How amazing is that?! I'm going to type up my notes and when I do, I'll email them to you.
hey lady! I was totally thinking about doing this with Seth this year but didn't know where to start! Is there somewhere I can find more info about these programs you are talking about? How are you guys doing by the way? I can't believe you have three kids already..and I am about to as well! Man, are we crazy or what?
